Creating our Yes.

With the National Referendum fast approaching on 14 October we were eager to join other creatives using their skills to get behind the Create-Yes.org campaign. We want to take up the invitation from the ‘Uluru Statement of the Heart’ and walk alongside First Nations people towards a better future.

To create our yes, we walked along the seafront and collected banksia twigs, seed pods, gum nuts, and some delightfully shaped eucalyptus leaves. Using cynotype printing paper and a sunny corner of the shopfront, we formed the collection into the word YES. The sun burnt it into place. A quick rinse revealed the final print.

We’ll be looking to get some posters and cards printed to display at the shopfront in Woody Point to give away to anyone who wants to voteYES.

Feel free to download the images and post on your own instagram stories or post.
